How to Play Roulette

Before you sit down to play Roulette you must understand that the game play rules will play a major part on your chances of coming away, at the end of your session a winner.

There are two popular types of Roulette played online and these are European Roulette and American Roulette, but whilst on the face of it they both look good and play well you should steer clear of the American version.

The reason for this is that the house edge of this game is much bigger than on the European version, this is due to it having two zeros, so do yourself a favor and never play the American version as it offers very poor value for money!

If you are playing a multi player Roulette game or at a land based casino you will have to be allocated a color of chips, unlike other casino games Roulette players all get different colored chips.

This is simply so that the Croupier knows whose chips belong to who, so should you require some chips to play you simply need to place your banknotes in front of the Croupier who will then give you your own colored chips.

When playing online this is done automatically, and the system automatically knows which are your chips and which are your fellow players.

Next you will have to decide where you wish to place your chips onto the table, and as a guide to this we suggest you checkout our Roulette Lingo section, this will show you every possible betting position.

Another section we suggest you checkout is our Roulette Payout's section, this will tell you what odds and payout's you will receive should your number spin in!

When you are playing Roulette at a land based casino you may be put off by the hustle and bustle that surrounds the table, but one tip is for you to try and position yourself in the middle of the table, as by doing so you can easily reach every betting position.

If however you wish to place a wager but cannot reach the layout for that number or numbers then the Croupier will only be too happy to help, simply hand them your chips and tell them the number(s) you wish to bet on.

You must not place any more chips onto the layout after the Croupier has said "no more bets please", if you do then these bets will be removed from the table and will not be valid for that spin.

After the ball has come to rest the Croupier will announce the winning number, she will then clear all losing bets from the layout and payout all winning bets, once again you should not place any bets onto the table until she states "place your bets please"
